Basel Botanical Gardens

It's been on my list of gear to get in the future for a long time and I was recently offered a very good deal on it from Fotohaus in Basel. So I now have a macro lens, an FE 90 mm F2.8 Macro G OSS (SEL90M28G).

Took a trip to the Botanical Gardens in Basel to try it out. Extremely happy with the quality of the images, this lens is very sharp. From the images below, all but the first image, the dark shot of the blue Damselfly were taken with the macro lens. This one was taken with a Sigma 150-600mm with a 1.5 extender bringing it up to 840mm. So I wasn't that close to the subject, but it was as close as I could get with 840mm!

Honestly, I'm a little surprised by this one. The composition is exactly what I wanted (I'd waited for a while for the Damselfly to return to the spot again), but what I didn't expect was the darkness of the background.

I like this one too, although in hindsight I may have aligned it slightly differently.
